Trump’s Probably Being Facetious, But Please God, Never Let Canada Be the 51st State
With Canada, we’d get Gavin Newsom for eight years. Followed by eight years of Chelsea Clinton.
Justin Trudeau is stepping down as Canada’s Prime Minister. President-elect Donald Trump said once again that the country should join the U.S. Here is his message, with all his strange capitalizations:
Many people in Canada LOVE being the 51st State. The United States can no longer suffer the massive Trade Deficits and Subsidies that Canada needs to stay afloat. Justin Trudeau knew this, and resigned. If Canada merged with the U.S., there would be no Tariffs, taxes would go way down, and they would be TOTALLY SECURE from the threat of the Russian and Chinese Ships that are constantly surrounding them. Together, what a great Nation it would be!!!
It’s probably safe to assume Trump is being facetious about Canada becoming our 51st state. He can’t possibly believe there are enough Canadians who would choose him and his acolytes over a handsome theater kid like Justin Trudeau. For sure they’d join forces with America’s “urban educated” smarty pants class and vote in Davos Girl Chrystia Freeland just because it’s a woman’s turn. That’s it. That’s the reason!
We don’t need Canada. Their left wants to join Europe, according to The Economist. You’d be adding them to the mix of 21 gendered Californians and faculty lounge cultural trendsetters; the kind that brought us things like “anti-racism”, which have made it hard to criticize a “person of color” (I’m sticking to faculty lounge terminology here).
Bretton Woods Research founder Vladimir Signorelli thinks that Canada is ready for a new political order to take over. Maybe the right-leaning Pierre Poilievre can lead. He is heavily favored in betting markets.
Trudeau resigned Monday morning, Jan. 6, 2025. It is now up to his Liberal Party to pick a new leader. The new leader will hold court until elections, so far scheduled for the fall.
His departure was expected by investors. Late last year, Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland resigned, setting the table for turmoil in Trudeau’s camp. Her exit highlighted a fracture within the A-list of his leadership team on how to run Canada’s economy and social policies. Outside of Trudeau’s cabinet, some 20 members of his Liberal Party called for him to step down in a signed letter in October.
Trudeau’s Exit: What Now?
Trudeau has suspended all legislative operations until March 24, 2025. Canada is a ship without a rutter.
During this time, the Liberal Party will choose his replacement and this replacement could be Freeland. Whoever they pick will run against Pierre in the fall.
Other potential candidates besides Freeland include former central banker Mark Carney; Freeland’s replacement at FinMin, Dominic LeBlanc; Science Minister François-Philippe Champagne, and former British Columbia chief Christy Clark.
“It won’t be easy to pick Trudeau’s replacement. All major Canadian political parties—including Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives, Jagmeet Singh’s New Democratic Party, and the Bloc Québécois have said they will bring a no-confidence vote as soon as the government reconvenes. Without Singh’s support in particular, the Liberal government will not have a majority and this will trigger early elections, sometime in April or May,” says Signorelli.
Poilievre is now calling for immediate elections, stating that Canadians deserve the right to choose their leader sooner rather than later. His 20-point lead over the Liberals in the polls suggests he can win easily.
Cynthia Freeland: Davos Girl
Freeland would sandwich Trump between two women leaders – the other being Claudia Sheinbaum in Mexico. For her part, Sheinbaum is being more cooperative on matters of immigration than Freeland is likely to be. She will be advertised by the Western regime’s wandering minstrels in the media as the Boss Lady fighting Trump. That will be Canada’s politics.
Since the death of the BlackBerry, Canada’s politics have been oil and gas and being the kinder, gentler North Americans.
If Freeland is the new Trudeau, we will end up missing that guy.
